| 値 | The purpose of this paper is to analyze the ernotional life cycle by the retrospec-tive method. These are the major findings: 1. The emotional life cycle goes up and down between the O level (neutral) and the +1 level (good), on the average． 2. The level of a woman's emotional life cycle is higher than a man's, through-out the life span. 3. The emotional life cycle is particularly unstable during adolescence, young adulthood, and middle age. 4. A woman's emotional life cycle is more unstable than a man's. 5. In the teens, success and failure in education strongly control both a man's and woman's emotional life cycle. 6. In the twenties, love, marriage, and children strongly control both a man's and a woman's emotional life cycle. 7. In the thirties, the influence of the family career weakens, relatively speak-ing, in the case of a woman. On the other hand, in the case of a man, the influence of the work career increases, relatively speaking. 8. In the forties, both men and women look for other possibilities of self-realization outside their work and family. 9. In the fifties, the influence of the family career increases again, relatively speaking. |
