| 内容記述 | 1859（安政6）年の開港後、横浜居留地で刊行された英字新聞には、同居留地で英仏陸海軍軍楽隊が開催した野外演奏会の広告が時折掲載されている。それを通じて、我々は、当日どのような曲目が演奏される予定であったかを知ることができる。本稿では、1863年9月のイギリス海軍ユーリアラス号軍楽隊とフランス陸軍アフリカ軽装歩兵第3大隊軍楽隊の演奏会広告、1865年秋と1866年春のシーズンの英国陸軍第20連隊第2大隊軍楽隊、ならびにそれに続く英国陸軍第9連隊第2大隊軍楽隊の演奏会広告を紹介する。それを通じて、1）幕末の横浜では、ヴェルディやヨハン・シュトラウスのような同時代の作曲家の作品までもが既に演奏されていたこと、2）オペラの序曲や抜粋がプwグラムの多くを占めていたこと、3）当時ヨーロッパで初演されたばかりの作品が驚くほどの早さで横浜で演奏されていたことが分かる。 | |||||

These advertisements tell us that, not only the works of classical composers such as Mozart and Rossini, but also those of more modern and contemporary composers such as Verdi and Johann Strauss II had already been performed at Yokohama in 1860s. | |||||
