In this context, the author considers that a client\u0027s mental problem may be expressed in his/her body language and, as such, therapists should pay attention to the client\u0027s physical condition in psychotherapy.\n The method of communication used by child clients is different from that of adult clients in psychotherapy. Children mainly use non-verbal communication because their verbal language skill is not yet well developed. Children involved in play therapy, especially, express their inner world through body language. Therefore, the author believes that therapists should develop their sensitivity to and understanding of the client\u0027s body language in play therapy, which will enable them to communicate with the child client well. When the therapist recognizes the client\u0027s body language, both therapist and child client share a common psychological experience in the play therapy.\n Adult clients, on the other hand, mainly use verbal language to communicate with the therapist in psychotherapy. Therefore, therapists are required to use their imagination when perceiving the client\u0027s five senses. Subsequently, the therapist\u0027s use of imagination activates the client\u0027s sensitivity to his/her own embodied self-awareness. This sensitivity forces the client to become aware of his/her own sense of body language, which the therapist helps the client notice his suppressed embodied self-awareness.\n In conclusion, the author emphasizes that a therapist\u0027s understanding of embodied self-awareness to sympathize with a client facilitates the client\u0027s own understanding. In this context, the author considers that a client's mental problem may be expressed in his/her body language and, as such, therapists should pay attention to the client's physical condition in psychotherapy. The method of communication used by child clients is different from that of adult clients in psychotherapy. Children mainly use non-verbal communication because their verbal language skill is not yet well developed.
