| 内容記述 | カラマツは宮沢賢治作品への登場頻度の高い樹木である。そのカラマツ林やその周辺の景観について賢治の描写を分析するとともに、同時代の代表的詩人北原白秋の作品と比較検討を行った。本論文では特に心象スケッチ『春と修羅』のなかの作品群に描かれたカラマツに着目した。それらの多くは岩手山麓の牧草地や放牧地の防風林としてのカラマツ林であった。賢治の作品から1920年代の岩手山麓は、草地や草地から遷移が進んだ森林、カシワ林などさまざまな植生タイプがみられ、また草地を囲むようにカラマツ林が列状に連なる景観であったと読み取れた。旧版地形図や岩手県統計書などの資料から判読した当時の景観も同様であり、賢治が『春と修羅』の作品群において正確に景観を描写していたことが検証できた。一方、北原白秋の有名な詩「落葉松」は、カラマツ林の中に歩み入り、また歩み去る己れを抒情的に詠いあげた。この詩人の絶唱ともいうべき作品ではあるが、カラマツ林の景観そのものについては全く描写していない。これに対して、賢治はカラマツ林の景観をナチュラリストの眼で観察し、心象スケッチという形で具体的に描写・記録した。彼はのち,カラマツを用いて景観を造る「装景」をも考えていたのであった。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The Japanese larch (Larix kaempferi) is a tree very frequently appearing in the works of Kenji Miyazawa. The author analyzed Kenji's descriptions of larch forests and their surrounding landscape and made a comparative review against the works of his contemporary, the leading poet Hakushu Kitahara. The author particularly focuses on larches depicted in a series of works in his mental sketches "Haru-to-Shura (Spring and Shura)." Many larch forests in these works are found to be windbreak forests in the meadowland and pastureland lying over the base of Mt. Iwate. The authors supposed, judging from Kenji's works, that the base of Mt. Iwate in the 1920s was widely covered by grassland with larch forests grown in a columnar pattern circling the grassland. This estimation agrees with the landscape interpreted from the past written records, including former topographical maps and the statistics of Iwate Prefecture. This corroborates the fact that Kenji precisely described the landscape at the time of the base of Mt. Iwate in his work "Haru-to-Shura." On the other hand, one of the well-known poems of Hakushu Kitahara, "Karamatsu (Japanese Larch)," may be one of his masterpieces, wherein he lyrically describes himself walking into and out of the larch forest, but it has no description of the landscape of the larch forest. In contrast, Kenji observed the landscape of the larch woods with the eye of a naturalist and described and recorded it in the form of mental sketches. Later, he even thought of "Soukei," in which he would create a landscape using larch trees. | |||||
