| 内容記述 | 生成文法の枠組みでは, 「経済性」というメタ原理は, 言語を適切に成立させる「原理の原理」とみなされる。 本稿では, このメタ原理としての「経済性」が, 4つの基本的な言語学上の課題,すなわち, 英語の第一人称代名詞の主格が単純であること, 英語の冠詞の存在意義, 日本語において助動詞の種類が豊富な理由, 日本語の数の概念の曖昧さの存在意義に対して, ある程度関わっていることを示した。 結果的に, 経済性は, 言語や状況によって, 形態的コスト・構造的コスト・音声的コストおよび心理的コストのうち1つ, または, 幾つかを低くする方向に働くことが分かった。 （英文） Under the framework of generative grammar, the meta-principle of "economy" is regarded as "the principle of principles," which makes it possible to form a language properly. In this paper, I have shown that economy as the meta-principle is to some extent related to the following four basic linguistic problems: the simplicity of the nominative case of the first-person pronoun in English, the significance of the existence of articles in English, the reason for a variety of auxiliaries in Japanese, and the significance of the existence of vagueness in the concept of numbers in Japanese. It has been found that the "economy" metaprinciple works depending on languages and situations in the way it helps lower one or more of the following costs: morphological cost, syntactic cost, phonological cost and psychological cost. | |||||||||
