| 内容記述 | So-called Japan Search Project that the author happened to look at in newspapers August in 2018 could be considered in this paper. The Japanese newspapers had written the national project guided by the Cabinet Office of Japanese Government separate from worldwide digitalization and digital contents movement. This paper would introduce and discuss various digital library programs and lots of related projects of the United States, essentially focusing on the Library of Congress. The Library of Congress launched digitization of possessed materials in the Billington Librarian period, including American Memory Project. On the other hand, Federal government libraries has organized, and managed FEDLINK that is one of the largest library network in the world. In recent years, the Library of Congress has collected born-digital material as they are. And the Library has been wrestling with possessed and unpossessed materials digitization carried out by the third party with a little money or without money. In addition to material digitization, the Library announces ‘Recommended Formats Statement’ to the public in order to make collected materials survive a long time. |
