During thelast decade there have been accumulated a lot of convincing evidences on non-seismicelectromagnetic effects, which would be a very promising candidate for short-term earthquakeprediction. This report describes the histor y of earthquake prediction study and the presentsituation of this particular science field of seismo-electromagnetics. Also, we present some of ourlatest results on the seismo-ULF emissions and seismo-ionospheric perturbations. Because it is concluded about 10 years ago that the former andconventional seismic measurement of crustal movements is not appropriate for ear thquakeprediction.
