| 内容記述 | The Heian period poetess Ono no Komachi has been popular as a heroine of various narratives. In Noh-plays of the middle ages she appears seven times- in "Soshiarai Komachi," "Kayoi Komachi," etc, -each play telling a past of her life, from arrogant fame to obscurity and misery. In the Edo period Komachi's story was made more popular by being adapted to kabuki and joruri; in yaro-kabuki it was regarded as a kyoran-mono, while ko-joruri succeeded to the komachi-mono of Noh. Meanwhile, Narihira, one of the Six Sages of Poetry (Rokkasen), was as familiar as Kamachi to the public. His most popular appearance in yaro-kabuki was in "Kawachi Gayoi." The Tosa joruri script "Azuma Narihira Iro Komachi" is unique in dexterously intertwining Komachi-mono with Narihira-mono. Here they are lovers. Komachi is shown as a poetess with a sunny, positive disposition, contrary to the old image of disgrace and dotage. The Tosa joruri script "Sakura Komachi," written next, is of the same genre, but with a more complex adaptation, including everyday ocurrences. The Komachi-mono type of Tosa Joruri is epoch-making in its departure from traditional Komachi-mono to move in the direction of modern drama. | |||||
